Girls Pathway Cricket at Redlands Tigers

Redlands Tigers provides a supportive and structured pathway for girls to begin, develop and progress in cricket, from first participation through to junior competition and senior opportunities.

Our girls pathway is aligned with Queensland Cricket’s programs and competition structure, offering a clear progression from introductory formats through to junior club cricket and into women’s cricket.

Starting the Journey

Entry Level:
Girls Cricket Blast

Girls Cricket Blast is the ideal introduction to cricket for younger players, typically designed for primary school-aged participants.

Delivered in a fun and engaging environment, the program focuses on:

  • Learning basic cricket skills

  • Movement, coordination and teamwork

  • Building confidence in a supportive group setting

  • Developing a love for the game

These programs are supported by Queensland Cricket and are designed to create a positive first experience in cricket for young girls

Developing Skills Through Competition

Junior Club Cricket

As players progress, they move into junior club cricket competitions, including girls and junior mixed cricket formats within the Redlands Cricket Inc (RCI) competitions.

Junior cricket provides:

  • Structured weekly matches

  • Opportunities to develop batting, bowling and fielding skills

  • Team-based learning and game awareness

  • A progression from participation into more competitive cricket

These competitions support players building their confidence and preparing for future opportunities within the women’s game.

Preparing for
Senior Cricket

Girls Transition Cricket

Redlands Tigers supports players transitioning from junior cricket into senior women’s cricket through development-focused competitions aligned with Brisbane Women’s Cricket structures.

Competitions such as Stage 3 girls cricket are designed to:

  • Bridge the gap between junior and senior formats

  • Provide match experience in a supportive environment

  • Prepare players for Community and Premier Cricket pathways

These transition formats are an important step in helping players build skills, confidence and readiness for senior cricket

The Girls Pathway at Redlands Tigers is designed to support players at every stage of their cricket journey.

Whether a player is picking up a bat for the first time or developing skills in competitive matches, the program provides a welcoming and structured environment focused on participation, learning and enjoyment.

As players grow in confidence and experience, they are supported to move through the pathway into junior club cricket and ultimately into senior women’s cricket within the Redlands Tigers program.
